2026 Legislative Day at the Virginia General Assembly

Stand Up for Virginia’s State Workforce & Be Heard!

VGEA Legislative Day 2026

February 23, 2026 | Richmond, Virginia

The 2026 General Assembly is in session, and decisions are already being shaped, often early, often quietly.

On Monday, February 23, 2026, VGEA members from across the Commonwealth will gather in Richmond to meet directly with legislators and staff. When state employees show up together, lawmakers take notice.

Numbers matter, and so do real stories from real people.

By attending Legislative Day, you help:

  • Demonstrate that workforce issues are not isolated or theoretical
  • Reinforce that compensation, retention, and modernization affect real people across agencies
  • Ensure legislators hear the same concerns from multiple, credible voices
  • Show that VGEA members are engaged, informed, and paying attention

Silence is often interpreted as satisfaction. Presence changes that assumption.
