The VGEA is a non-profit association with thousands of active State employee and retiree members throughout the Commonwealth.

The association also boasts hundreds of supportive associate members, who are legislators, business and community leaders as well as family members of State employees and retirees.

The VGEA is not affiliated with any local, state, or national labor union.  Our objectives are accomplished by petition, resolution or recommendation to the Governor, General Assembly, or any state official, committee, board or department.

  • Great organization and I’m proud to be a member. VGEA worked tirelessly to ensure state employees received a 3% raise this year and not tied to revenue projections. VGEA is our voice to state government. I wish more state employees would join, there is strength in numbers.
